A New French Factory For Louis Vuitton, plus How To Spot Designer Knockoffs

1 Jul

A June 27th article in the Wall Street Journal heralds the opening of a new Vuitton factory in France this week. Louis Vuitton is considered a “giant” in the luxury goods market, with estimated annual sales of billions of euros more than lofty rivals such as Gucci and Prada. Vuitton has 456 stores around the globe, over 100 more than rival Gucci. Vuitton has had production problems for years, and even had to close its French stores early one day last year, as it was running so low on inventory. The exclusive brand makes only zippers in Asia, thus protecting its image.
